When in the market for two-way radios, it may seem a straightforward process. You choose how many radio devices you need, when you need them, and how much you have to spend as an overall budget. But the reality is a lot different to the expectation.
You have to factor in everything from coverage and choosing the right features to maintenance and repairs. In this blog we'll discuss the key differences between making a direct purchase and taking out a Managed Service contract with Eemits Communications.

The Managed Service explained
Designed around you, the Eemits Managed Service incorporates all the key elements of our award-winning TRBOCALL modular platform. Combining the right hardware, accessories, software, features, infrastructure, and service wrap, you have the flexibility to choose the elements that suit your individual needs - so you pick exactly what you require, whether it's just hardware or a combination of all modules.
We then do the rest by providing you with with the benefits below.
Spread the cost of payments
Make one monthly recurring payment that's spread across a 36 or 60-month period. All your hardware, accessories, software, features, infrastructure, and service wrap is factored into the cost.
Access to the latest technology
Hiring your radios means you're able to future-proof your fleet by always making sure you have the latest models and technology available during your contracy and beyond (if you renew your partnership with us).
Expert maintenance support
We offer preventive, reactive, and remote maintenance support - aligned to pre-agreed SLAs. This includes an annual site visit as standard, business-hours technical advice, 24-7-365 on-call support (optional extra), and remote monitoring and programming services.
Accidental repair cover
You benefit from extended warranty, or extended warranty with accidental damage cover, that will last for up to five years. Please note - extended warranty and extended warranty with accidental damage is factored into your monthly cost, but you can choose to have standard cover. All radios come with a two-year warranty as standard, but accidental damage won't be accounted for.
OFCOM licence managment
You won't need to sweat the small stuff when it comes to licenced radio devices. We apply for an OFCOM licence on your behalf and manage the process from start to finish. This includes getting in touch closer to the time when the licence is due to expire.
What you get with a direct purchase
Direct purchases are ideal if you want full management of your radio devices, and have the experience to ensure their performance stays high and coverage doesn't diminish. You will need to weigh up whether you're happy to buy a fleet of devices under the caveat of knowing they will diminish over time in respect of their place in the market.
Radios come with a standard two-year warranty (that covers manufacturer defects only), two-year software updates, and throughout that two-year period you'll benefit from telephone support from ourselves.
From an OFCOM licence perspective, you will need to manage this, but we will still provide free programming and tune the radio to your licence frequency.
