O&M Provider on Prestigious Recyling Plant Chooses Eemits Managed Service

Eemits Requalifies for SafeContractor Accreditation

An appointed Operations & Maintenance (O&M) partner for the world's first commercial-scale plastic recylcing plant (based in Teesside) has chosen an Eemits Managed Service for the provision of two-way radio communication on site. 

The plant and the O&M provider will process over 20,000 tonnes of waste plastic each year, during phase one of the operation - so a robust radio solution has been put in place to aid worker safety, site efficiency, and plant productivity. 

Here's a more in-depth breakdown of what was recommended and implemented. 

Hardware - Motorola DP4801Ex & Other Devices

Due to the nature of work on site, ATEX-rated devices were required to ensure safe working. To accommodate this requirement, Motorola DP4801Ex screened radios and Motorola DP4401Ex non-screened radios were recommended. 

The DP4000 Ex series still remains one of the leading products on the market, and provides end users with wide area coverage, high-quality audio, and access to a range of safety features. 


From an accessories point of view, multi-unit chargers, hard leather carry cases, shoulder straps, and remote speaker microphones were provided. 

And a fixed desktop Motorola DM4600e radio was also implemented for control room use.

Infrastructure - TRBOCALL Capacity Max

Given the plant's location at Wilton International, an ultra-reliable system was required in order to give maximum coverage in a vastly populated area, where two-way communication is critical.

To support the O&M with ultra-reliable coverage, our flagship TRBOCALL Capacity Max Tier III system was implemented. 












Utilising IP architecture, Capacity Max offers reliable coverage on a regional scale - which highlights its power in terms of connectivity. And as it's a cloud-based solution, the end customer saves a significant amount of money, as there's no requirement for multiple site visits to implement a localised site. 

Service Wrap - Preventive & Reactive Support

Any good Managed Service has a strong service wrap provision that runs for the entirety of the contract. 

And for the best possible support, the O&M partner took out a 36-month agreement with Eemits, that compromised of the following: 

Motorola Enhanced Warranty - Hardware Repair with Accidental Damage

This includes quicker turnaround time for repairs, two-way shipping, standard repairs, adjustments and restorations. If the radios are damaged through being dropped etc. they will typically be covered for repair under the warranty too. 

Preventive Maintenace - Annual Visit from Engineering Team

This includes an annual one-day site visit from our Engineering team, where we'll do a full site check to ensure coverage is performing as expected, along with any manufacturer equipment that is in place. 






Business Hours Reactive Maintenance - Our Team is on Hand

We know things can happen unexpectedly, that's why our team is on hand during business hours to advise or pass on any problems being faced with the radio system. The business will use the information and act accordingly.
