Reliability through redundancy

You may be used to the word redundancy in a work-related sense, but in engineering terms it means something different. Antenna redundancy – Having multiple antennas in situ will help ensure that signal/coverage doesn’t drop off, especially in scenarios where  failback systems come into play. 

Battery redundancy – Having spare batteries for ATEX radios is essential. If you use batteries to the point of the radio becoming hot to touch, you may find that radio performance will begin to deteriorate. Having spares and knowing when to use them is vital.
